BASIC PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The NordicTrack Exxxx is a sweet treadmill. With a belt size of 20? x 55?, an average runner/walker has more than enough room for a comfortable, stable stride. Heavy duty, FlexStep padding beneath the belt provides for a comfortable balance between support and cushioning. The speed range on this treadmill goes from 0-12mph with a 2.5 HP motor and the bed can be inclined up to 12%. Unlike some of the other NordicTrack models, the Exxxx can fold away for storage. Two rubber arms, about 18? long, provide stability when running. Sensors (also known as the ?CardioGrip?) located just below the console can be held for a few seconds to compute your heart rate. Like many of the other NordicTrack models, this machine comes with fans (that can be set at LOW or HIGH) to cool you off during your run. The new-fangled feature of these fans is an ?aromatherapy? component, whereby a runner can dab some scented oils on sponges to enhance the air. A key is also provided as an added safety component. The treadmill cannot function without the key being inserted into the slot at the base of the console.
CONSOLE
First of all, the console is fairly large, about three feet wide. Now, half of the width is consumed by the fans which are located on either side of the electronic control panel. That means that the control panel is roughly 18? wide. Like many other control panels, the top is devoted to electronic board that displays your progress around a track. The bottom provides four lines of simple, easy-to-read buttons that control your workout: 1) ON/OFF buttons, 2) Speed buttons, ranging from 1-12 mph with and ? buttons on either end 3) Incline buttons, ranging from 0-12% and 4) Fan controls, Select Goal, Select Course and iFit selection buttons. The treadmill provides over 20 different programs with various incline and speed settings.
IN A NUTSHELL, WHAT?S SO GREAT ABOUT THIS MODEL?
? When buying a treadmill, most experts suggest that you find a treadmill with a motor with a continuous duty motor of at least 2.0 HP. The E xxxx comes with a continuous duty 2.5 HP motor.
? Stability is always important and the E xxxx is solid, even with a 250 runner. Solid metal construction with a graphite finish.
? It?s also recommended that a deck should be at least 18" x 53". As mentioned, the deck of the E xxxx is 20? x 55?.
? The console should be easy to use. I find that these buttons are very easy to read, and extremely easy to press.
? You?re probably going to want a treadmill that?s as quiet as possible. I?ve found that model is definitely quiet, even with the noise of the fans.
? The deck should be cushioned for support. The deck of the Exxxx is nicely cushioned, in fact it is cushioned a lot better than some comparable treadmills out there and has an adjustable flex for more or less cushion.
