JOB SUMMARY: The successful Zone Traffic Manager candidate will use their expert knowledge to execute Traffic and tactical Inventory functions related to the Zone inventory and schedules and will be primarily responsible for executing the linear spot business generated by the Local Sales teams. The Zone Traffic Manager will also oversee fulfillment of BHN Marketing orders as well as Community Affairs, Government Affairs and BHMS Corporate orders. While the position reports to the Sr. Manager, Customer Care, the Zone Traffic department’s primary customer is the VP of Local Sales. The successful Zone Traffic Manager candidate will lead a culture of extraordinary Customer Care made possible by a high-performance, focused team whose success is measured against clearly defined competence, productivity and quality standards. The Zone Traffic Manager will collaborate with the Interconnect Traffic Manager and the Sr. Manager, Customer care to coordinate with other Media Strategies departments to support new initiatives, resolve issues and continuously improve business results. RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, training and development of department personnel Perform regular connection meetings, maintain performance and provide coaching on career development plans for all direct reports Provide vision and direction to the department regarding Media Strategies goals, business plans and initiatives. Evaluate workflow, technical and billing run rates to identify opportunities for improvement and communicate possible solutions Create an environment that encourages open communication, collaboration and the sharing of ideas. Evaluate and research lost/dropped revenue providing feedback to Sales/Operations management as appropriate Provide resolution to complex and out of policy operational issues Establish and communicate clear direction and priorities to the team and direct reports. Monitor the team SLA Achievement, execution of functions and adherence to established policies. Participate in providing communication and direction to T&B vendors on open issues and enhancement requests.   Regularly review internal processes and procedures which for opportunities to enhance interactions between Traffic, Sales, Tech Ops, Billing and other departments Assist National and Regional Sales and other BHMS departments in the resolution of problems within the Traffic departments. Provide backup management coverage and assistance for Interconnect Traffic Manager Manage & oversee resolution of high-level escalation issues Develop and maintain an infrastructure which will provide operational excellence and world class customer service Manage the execution of approved strategic inventory strategies to maximize revenue and inventory yield Regularly assess satisfaction of customer base, identifying and responding to concerns Work with all system marketing contacts to ensure inventory is being used effectively and commitments are being met. Provide back up to direct reports and department personnel as needed Develop and maintain short- and long-range (one and six quarters) improvement plans focusing on developing staff, prevention, monitoring, maintaining project schedules, and coordinating staff focus based on proven best practices Provide timely and necessary training to all department personnel Provide mentoring and project opportunities to staff with high growth potential Create and maintain documentation on relevant procedures within the department. Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance is required Effectively manage personal and departmental commitments to achieve established expectations Perform other duties as assigned.Required Skills Strong technical knowledge of sales automation and T&B software applications as it relates to traffic and inventory functions Well-developed mentoring, coaching and performance management skills Highly proficient in MS Office applications Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously proactively to meet deadlines and expectations Able to communicate professionally in a fast-paced setting while fostering a positive working environment Excellent internal customer service skills with an ability to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction Able to respond quickly to an escalated issue as required Able to consistently provide timely, accurate reporting of projects and activities with relevant analysis and actionable recommendations Able to quickly produce clear and concise written analysis and reports. Highly collaborative team player Self-motivated to achieve excellence Required Experience At least 5 years of media traffic experience, MSO experience preferred 2+ years of media traffic leadership experience including direct supervision of at least 4 people High School graduate or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree preferred Working Conditions: This position works primarily indoors throughout the year. Sitting for long periods of time may occur. The job will require long periods of personal computer use and verbal telephone communication. The successful candidate must be able to work a flexible work schedule with the occasional need for extended hours.
