Department Profile Florida Hospital's Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME) strives to provide an organized system of educational programs with guidance and supervision of fellows/residents, facilitating their personal and professional development, firmly rooted in Florida Hospital's mission and values, while ensuring safe and appropriate care for patients. Work Hours/Shift: Full time, days, shift hours may vary, possible weekend shifts Job Summary As a Program Coordinator-Simulation with Graduate Medical Education you will make providing service your priority while caring for the whole person in a faith-based atmosphere. The Program Coordinator - Simulation is responsible for all exercise coordination aspects of clinical and non-clinical simulated learning activities, simulation-based education, and scenario-based training for the Florida Hospital system and associated programs/partners, including Graduate Medical Education and the Adventist University of Health Sciences. Responsibilities include exercise scheduling, site prep for all pre- and post-exercise activities, debriefing support, simulation audio-visual data collection/analysis, reports/statistics, and inventory management. Operates an enterprise-wide simulation management system that uses web-based technologies to capture, organize, and analyze Florida Hospital's full spectrum of simulation training efforts. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Skills, Education & Experience Required: Sound written and verbal communication skills as evidenced by written reports, communications, and presentations. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor message to individuals and audiences throughout the organization. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Effective computer skills and knowledge of desktop applications, including MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Familiarity with current human patient simulators and simulation/audiovisual platforms, including Laerdal, Gaumard, and CAE Healthcare. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Current knowledge of acute, hospital based care, and national healthcare initiatives. (preferred) Skilled in document management applications (MS SharePoint). (preferred) One to three years of experience in project coordination, operations, education, or training. One to three years of management experience. Associates or Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Simulation, Education, Technology or applicable discipline. (preferred) One to three years of experience in direct patient care within hospital or clinical setting. (preferred) One to three years of education/teaching experience. (preferred) One to three years of experience in medical simulation training. (preferred) BLS/ACLS/PALS Instructor. (preferred) Registered Nurse, Licensed Practice Nurse, Respiratory Therapist, Paramedic, Emergency Medical Technician, Emergency Department Technician, or Patient Care Technician. (preferred) Licensure, Certification or Registration Required: None If clinical, certification in specialty. (preferred) Job Responsibilities: Demonstrates, through behavior, Florida Hospital's core values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship, and Teamwork Exercise/Training Scheduling: Leads enterprise-wide scheduling of simulation training, exercises and courses, including course instruction when appropriate. Maintains visibility of all simulation training resources across the Florida Hospital system, including simulation support staff, educators, simulation training rooms, human patient simulators, task trainers, and associated equipment and training supplies. Prioritizes support and resolves conflicts based on the identified needs of the customers relative to the system-level strategic initiatives assessment. Campus/Program Expert Liaison: Serves as the calendar/scheduling liaison to campuses/programs for all aspects of simulation learning and training. Assists and guides campus educators and training leads on use and availability of training resources. Schedules education for system-wide customers on methods and techniques to integrate simulation into their training and education programs. Assists Simulation Educators in teaching debriefing skills and standards across the system. Simulation Site Preparation: Ensures patient simulation rooms, task training rooms, and classrooms are properly configured and ready before the start of simulation training or exercises. Assists Simulation Technicians with physical set up of human patient simulators/task trainers, pre-exercise scenario review, and checklist preparation. Conducts post-exercise reset of training rooms and associated resources. Debriefing Support: Assists the Simulation Technician staff during exercise execution by monitoring audio-visual feeds and video bookmarking for debriefing. Reconfigures debriefing classroom to facilitate immediate post-exercise debrief. Manages simulation log files, advises on data management strategies, and determines data storage requirements. Data Collection/Analysis/Reports: Manages Florida Hospital's enterprise-wide simulation IT system. Ensures configuration management and standardization of all exercise planning and execution data. Analyzes data collected from simulation scenarios/courses. Provides meaningful reports and assessments to leadership, simulation staff, and customer leads. Advises staff on remediation or scenario/course adjustments as needed. Inventory Management: Department lead for simulation inventory management. Catalogues all simulations, simulators, task trainers, and associated supplies/equipment in the simulation IT system. Manages total resource visibility, usage, allocation, and inventory forecasting (consumption and re-ordering). Assists Director with managing department budget related to simulation equipment and supplies, including human patient simulator warranties, preventative maintenance, and simulation lab service agreements. Continuous Process Improvement: Continually assesses opportunities for improvement in all aspects of learning technologies. Actively participates and contributes expertise to process improvement activities.
