DISTRICT SALES MANAGER in Orlando, Florida For Sale

SUMMARY: The District Sales Manager (DSM) will have primary responsibility for all reseller channel customer activity including total sales results in an assigned multi-state territory. This position is responsible for both acquisition and maintenance of dealer participation in reseller programs. Extensive travel is required. A company vehicle will be furnished. RESPONSIBILITIES: Customer contact, including personal visits as required and other forms of follow-up. Training of customers’ personnel regarding battery sales techniques, technical information and programs. Prospecting for new accounts, and determination of growth opportunities with existing accounts. Customer service and problem resolution Trade show coordination and presentations Participation in special “sales blitz” campaigns in own territory or other territories as requested. Maintaining adequate customer program knowledge Maintaining adequate skill levels for job function Sales & Presentation Computer literacy Information Retrieval Attending Exide training programs or Exide sponsored training as required Call Reporting Expense Reporting Calendar Maintenance Budget planning and execution Interfacing with account Managers for feedback Obtaining and forwarding competitive intelligence from the marketplace Receiving and executing directives from Reseller Sales Directors Additional assignments as required by reseller Management Team Required SkillsREQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate is a seasoned sales professional who possesses at least five years of sales management experience. This highly visible position requires demonstrated sales skills and a proven track record of successful selling to the automotive aftermarket. A Bachelors degree in business or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required. We seek a candidate with a progressively responsible career history and demonstrated success in territory sales or key account management. He or she must possess a high level of business acumen and the quantitative/analytical capacity to understand complex sales processes. Strategic selling skills, effective negotiating skills, and commitment to customers are required. The successful candidate will have effective salesmanship with well developed sales skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. The person we seek will have a collaborative work style, one that solicits ideas and shares information to develop creative solutions and winning strategies. The ability to develop productive relationships at all levels of the organization is very important. Optimism, enthusiasm and humor are valuable characteristics. The right person will be resourceful and creative, with excellent time management and organizational skills.
