The difference between sealing and expunction:
When a record is sealed, the record is not destroyed, but will be only accessible though certain agencies, including government and federal agencies. When a record is expunged, it is destroyed.
If your record is expunged, the government agencies will still see that a record was expunged, but will only be able to obtain details through court order.
You will be able to legally deny or fail to acknowledge the arrest but that does not apply if you are applying for citizenship, if you are seeking to be licensed by a government agency, or if you are seeking employment with a governmental agency.
Juvenile Records:
A juvenile diversion expunction does not count as a sealing/expunction, but there is a time limit (6 months after diversion program was completed), and there are certain exceptions. You must act as soon as possible, if your eligibility is about to expire.

LANDLORD TENANT LAW

Uncontested Cases- Preparation Fees will start at $395.00
Fees will include:
a. Preparation of the 3 day notice to pay or vacate
b. Preparation of the 7 day notice of lease violation
c. Preparation of the complaint for possession
d. Preparation of the 5 day or 20 day summons
e. Preparation for motion of default from the clerk

j. Fee will also include one court appearance
? Contested Cases will incur an additional charge for purposes of litigation. I offer low down payments and flexible payment plans.
? Separate Fees to be paid to the Clerk:? Filing fees will be paid directly to the clerk and their cost will depend on the County, in which the complaint will be filed. The fee in Lake County is $185.00 to file the Initial Complaint.
? Summons will be paid to the Clerk and will depend on the County, but usually $10.00 per summons.
? Service of Process? Fees will depend on the County in which the case is filed. For example, in Lake County, the fee is $40.00 per tenant to be served.
? Writ of Possession?s fees will depend on the County. In Lake County the fee for a writ is $90.00 to be paid to the Sheriff?s Office.
? Damages--If you want to ask the court for damages, I can add the additional count to the complaint and can litigate it for you, for an additional fee. You can be entitled to all the costs incurred at the result of the tenant?s actions.
